Gateway United FC will kickstart its 2021/2022 Nigeria National League season on Saturday February 12th, 2022 against Campos FC of Owerri at MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Gateway United last season finished third with 37 points, thereby missed the playoff spot by a whisker in the group B2 standings .
In preparation for the forthcoming season, Gateway United participated in the Dapo Abiodun preseason tourney, got to the final Ogun FA Preseason tournament and played series of grade A friendlies.
The Acting Chief Coach, Toyin Ayinla revealed to the GUFC media unit that the team is now battle ready for the first test of the season and the season at large.
“The first game is always significant. Most times, it indicates the outlook of the season, therefore, all is set to get off to flying start and consolidate on that in our subsequent games”
