Former Rangers boss Gbenga Ogunbote has officially joined Nigeria Professional Football League Side Shooting Stars of Ibadan ahead of the new season.
Ogunbote was unveiled by the management of the Oluyole Warriors in Ibadan this afternoon, after signing his contract.
The experienced manager signed a two-year deal and will replace Edith Agoye who tinkered the team for six years.
“I want to sincerely inform you that Shooting Stars is a traditional club with a rich history. Bringing back the club’s lost glory is not the issue or duty of Ogunbote as an individual but it is going to be a responsibility of everybody and all stakeholders including the government – owners of the club.
“Because of the work I did previously here is the reason why I was asked to come back and work again and I’m hopeful that we will achieve something this third time,” Ogunbote said.
Ogunbote, left his role at Remo Stars after his one-year deal expired, guiding the Ikenne-based team to CAF Confederations Cup place.
Ogunbote who is back at the club for his third stint will be aiming to surpass his previous record come next season.
