Belgian club, Genk have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian striker Yira Sor ahead of January transfer window.
According to Belgian news outlet HLN, Slavia Prague accepted a €6.5m bid from the Genk for the player.
Sor almost joined Genk in the summer as replacement for Cyriel Dessers but the deal collapsed after both clubs failed to agree a transfer fee.
The situation affected the player’s form as the breakdown in transfer talks ‘came as a shock’, BRL learnt.
Genk however returned to the Czech Republic Champions and have now agreed a deal that’ll see the player move to Belgium when the transfer window reopens next month.
His €6 5m deal becomes Genk’s most expensive signing surpassing compatriot, Paul Onuachu, who arrived from FC Midtjylland for €6m in 2019.
The 22 year-old scored 11 goals, with nine assists in 41 appearances across all competitions for Slavia Prague last season.
