Genk sweating over Paul Onuachu after pre-season Mishap

Genk is at the risk of missing the service of Paul Onuachu for the beginning of the new season after the striker suffered an injury in pre season training.

Manager, Wouter Vrancken confirmed the Nigerian forward injured his adductor just before their pre season match against FC Utrecht on Wednesday.

Onuachu was injured during the warm-up, and his replacement Andras Nemeth scored in the 2-1 win over the Dutch side.

“Paul Onuachu dropped out during the warm up when he kicked, he felt something in the adductor,” Wouter Vrancken confirmed in the post-match press conference.

“It remains to be seen what exact nature of the injury, but it makes no sense to risk at this stage of preparations,” He explained.

On Saturday, Genk will face FC Volendam in another build up game. Their first competitive match will be played on July 24 against Club Brugge in the Jupiler Pro League.
