Genk’s Chief slams Slavia Prague for pulling out of Yira Sor deal

Sporting Director of Genk Dimitri De Condé disclosed that the club reached a verbal agreement with Slavia Prague for the transfer of Yira Sor, but the Czech side pulled out of the deal.

Genk were keen on signing an attacker after the club lost Cyriel Dessers, Junya Ito and Theo Bongodani last window.

Conte stated that, the Nigerian youngster was among the players penciled down as potential replacement and they eventually reached verbal agreement with Slavia Prague, only for them to stop the player from leaving.

“There has been a difficult period in which we lost three wingers in two weeks, including Ito, despite it being a Belgian record transfer for a player of that age,” said the Club Chief.

“We met Yira Sor from Slavia Prague. There was a verbal agreement with Slavia, but suddenly they wouldn’t let him go.”

Genk reportedly offered €8m for the forward, while Slavia Prague increases their asking price to €10m.
