Genk’s coach Wouter Vrancken wants Onuachu to improve

KRC Genk manager Wouter Vrancken said he wants to see more from Paul Onuachu.

Onuachu hasn’t been at his best for the past few months after another disappointing transfer window and injuries.

The striker has been in and out of Genk squad, with Vrancken preferring Tanzania’s Mbwana Samatta as the arrow head of his attack.

While speaking to the press ahead of Sunday’s league game, Vrancken said Onuachu has not regained his form, but he’s making progress.

“There is definitely evolution. There has been a lot of news coming to him lately. He now has to do things that he was not supposed to do before,” said Wouter Vrancken at his press conference.

Vrancken added that, the forward must improve his all round play to get back into his side.

“At FC Midtjylland he had a certain playing style in which more physical work was expected. That is now also the intention. Paul is used to being in the box and scoring goals.

“We want to bring more variety to his game and not just use him as a pivot. He feels good about that,” the Coach concluded.
