Embattled former AFN President recognized by the Sports ministry in Nigeria Olamide George has lampooned the Ministry’s hijack of the whole electioneering process that produced Tonobok Okowa as the President of the Abuja AFN election on Monday.
George speaking in a chat with brila.net faulted the Ministry of Youths and Sports for open bias and failing to stick with the provision of the 2017 AFN constitution which empowers only Congress of the AFN to set up an electoral committee as against the ad-hoc electoral committee which comprises of Ministry officials which is in clear breach of the proviso of the 2017 AFN constitution.
“Okowa has emerged in the Ministry’s election but I issued a statement like three days ago when I observed that the ministry has destroyed the process of the election. Apart from the fact that they did it in favour of somebody openly, at least they should have allowed the 2017 constitution to prevail.
The 2017 constitution states that the Congress will set up the electoral committee, the electoral committee that conducted the zonal election were Ministry officials, it is not in our constitution, it is unknown to the constitution.”
