Gerrard gives reasons for Aribo’s absence in Livingston draw

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Joe Aribo is currently out with a slight knock which made the Nigerian midfielder to miss Sunday’s league clash with Livingston.

Both Leon Balogun and Aribo failed to make the entire matchday squad of Rangers which played out a 0-0 Scottish Premier League draw with Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Rangers manager, Gerrard had confirmed that Balogun would miss the Gers league encounter at Livingston after the central defender had suffered a quad injury last week Wednesday.

It was quite a surprise to see that Aribo was not included in the entire Rangers’ match-day squad against Livingston with Scott Arfield coming in for the Super Eagles midfielder.

Gerrard has now confirmed that Aribo was omitted from his squad against Livingston as a result of a slight knock he picked in training ahead of the game.

“He has a little knock. We are hoping to have him available next weekend. It was too risky to do it [against Livingston],” Gerrard was quoted as saying by Glasgow Times.

The Nigerian international has made three league appearances for Rangers this season scoring a goal in the process.
