It’s a Miracle! Henry Onyekuru could be back in action sooner than thought as the forward might not have to go under the knife after all.
Anderlecht had reported Onyekuru will require surgery on an injured medial ligament.
The 20-year-old who is expected to return to his mother club, Everton, for further assessment has revealed he ” won’t need surgery” per Ayo Ibidapo [aoifootball].
Onyekuru said that medics at Everton reviewed the Magnetic Resonance Imagery (MRI) results and also the extent of damage to the leg.
“Everton called for me to come back. They saw the picture of the MRI and they said I won’t need surgery. So hopefully, I will just go through the treatment and won’t need it.”
“Hopefully, in three weeks I should be in UK for treatment,” he said.
The player was a major doubt for the 2018 World Cup after early reports of his injury and he has also been ruled out for the rest of the season.
But, it seems there’s some hope he could be in Russia if his recovery goes well.
