Griezmann to Manchester United rumours intensify amid new advert starring Atletico star

Paul Pogba has dropped the biggest hint yet that Antoine Griezmann is set for a summer move to Old Trafford by telling reporters asking on a possible move to ‘watch this space’.

And the Atletico Madrid forward has also added fuel to the fire in his latest advert for a Chinese Mobile phone company.

The France international has told those in charge at Atletico that he wants to leave this summer, with Manchester United long mooted as his most likely destination.

And post-match footage of Pogba from United’s Europa League victory over Ajax released on Wednesday shows the world’s most expensive player’s cheeky response when asked if he will playing alongside his countryman next season.

Asked by a Telefoot reporter if he will be reunited with Griezmann, Pogba breaks out into the forward’s famous telephone celebration before telling the press: ‘Watch this space.’

It is beginning to appear inevitable that the pair will both be pulling on the red jersey next season, and the Atleti man has done little to play down speculation.

In fact, his latest advert appearance alludes to talks with the Europa League winners, when he shows off his new smart watch.

Asked for a photo by a fan in the 90-second ad, Griezmann receives a call from a mysterious ‘Jose’, before rejecting it to focus his attentions on the supporter.

The tongue-in-cheek move sent Twitter into a frenzy, with United followers concluding that it could be Mourinho on the other end of the phone preparing to finalise a deal.

If a deal is to be done, Mourinho and the Old Trafford board will likely have to find £85million to prise Atletico’s biggest star away from the Spanish capital.

Griezmann spoke publicly about his future on Wednesday, and insisted that his future is in the hands of the Atletico Madrid president – Enrique Cerezo.

‘I am good at the club,’ the 26-year-old told AS.com. ‘My agents are talking with Atletico and we will see what happens.

‘My future will be decided this summer. If I do leave this summer, the date will depend on the qualifying phase of the World Cup.

‘I am happy here. I have spoken with the manager, with Koke and (Diego) Godin. It is in the hands of the president of the club. We will see how it goes.’
