Guinea football federation has fired senior national team head coach Paul Put after failing to go beyond the round of 16 of the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
Put has come under several attacks from the country‘s media , after the Syli Nationale finished third in Group B behind debutants Madagascar and former champions Nigeria, although the team reached the round of 16 as one of the best losers.
The former Burkina Faso manager joined the likes of Clarence Seadorf ( Cameroon ), Ricardo Mannetti ( Namibia), Emmanuel Amuneke ( Tanzania ), Sébastien Desabre ( Uganda ) and Javier Aguirre ( Egypt ) who has lost their job after elimination from the tournament.
Put who guided Burkina Faso to the final of the 2013 edition, tradedblames with captain Ibrahima Traore over tactics at the tournamentand his dismissal was announced by the Guinea Football Federation,who accused him of meddling in financial matters.
