Embattled President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria Ibrahim Gusau has stated that he will not honour the invitation from the committee set up by the Olamide George lead board of the AFN ahead of Wednesday’s meeting where the suspended President is expected to defend himself.
Gusau speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said honouring such invitation will be validating the Olamide George lead board of the AFN which according to him is still an illegal board.
He added that he will be willing to honour invitations from the NOC or the ministry of sports but not from any other AFN board.
“Do they even have the right to invite me? these are people on suspension. They don’t have any constitutional backing to invite me.
“If I could report myself to EFCC and ICPC, which other committees will I have to report myself to that I can’t face.
“I’m sure any other committee to investigate funds will be lower than any of these two committees, so if I can face these two committees which one can’t I face.
“The people that set up these committees are even on suspension, why will I appear before them to validate their board.”
