Hakeem Busari defends Gateway United’s poor away record

Gateway United Football Club head coach Hakeem Busari has attributed his side’s poor away form to fatigue and inexperience.

 


The former Golden Eaglets assistant coach spoke with brila.net immediately after Gateway United’s narrow win over Godosky FC of Nnewi at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta on Saturday.

 

Gateway United have been involved in four away games in this season’s Nigeria National League, losing three and drawing one.

 

The Ogun State-based team will be on the road again for the Wednesday tie against Bayelsa United, and Hakeem Busari said they are eager to make a statement against his former side.

 

“We have encountered different challenges in some away matches and they all contribute to our woes.”

 

“We travel by road and during our last trip to Akwa Ibom, our Vehicle broke down a d we have to spend few days on the road.”

 

“Apart from the fatigue, our is also very new and still lacking experience. We have to continue working hard and hopeful the match against Bayelsa United will be a different ball game ” He told brila.net.

 

Meanwhile, a brilliant free-kick from Michael Okolo to help Gateway United to a 1-0 win against Godosky FC of Anambra at MKO Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta on Saturday.

 

Godosky goalkeeper, Obinna James, was caught by surprise as Michael Okolo curled the ball into the back of the with his left foot net from 25 yards.
