Super Eagles Head Coach Gernot Rohr says he’s “happy” with Mikel Obi’s return with a good team in Europe after a period both out of action and playing in China.
Mikel signed a short term deal with Championship side Middlesbrough, a move Rohr told brila.net the 31-year-old midfielder had been longing to make.
Reuniting with his family in Europe and playing football again; for a team seeking to gain promotion back to the premier league, were part of the motivation for his return the Coach suggested. The club confirmed the deal for the Super Eagles captain on Thursday.
