“He wanted the move”, Hammarby’s sporting director explains Amoo’s sale

Danish giants FC Copenhagen have completed agreement to sign Nigerian midfielder, Akinkunmi Amoo from Hammarby of Sweden.

Hammarby initially rejected several new offers for their prize asset, but they were forced to sale after FC Copenhagen matched their asking price of £4.5 million.

Amoo became a fan favorite at Hammarby, after scoring 9 goals and provided 6 assists last season.

Speaking on the decision to sale the player, Hammarby’s sports director Jesper Jansson has admitted that Amoo himself wanted the move to the Danish capital.

“Yes absolutely. He wanted the move, but we had a contract with him and it should be the right situation. “

“The right position for the player and the right position for us, Jansson told Fotbollskanalen on Saturday.

Hammarby later accepted a Scandinavian record offer from Copenhagen for the midfield prodigy and he’s expected to be presented to the fans in the next few hours.
