Former Nigerian Super Eagles midfielder, Mikel Obi has taken aim at three Real Madrid’s star, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Dani Carvajal, saying they are not best in in their respective positions.
Obi, stated that the plethora of trophies won by these players, including their five UEFA Champions League titles, are unjustified in his eyes.
He expressed these sentiments via reports from TribalFootball.
“When you see that players like Kroos, Nacho, Carvajal and Modric won 5 trophies of the UCL it is a bit unfair, because these players are not even close to being the best in their positions.
“This shows that trophies can be misleading. I can name 10 players in the same positions that are better than these footballers.”
The former Nigerian Captain has thrown his support behind Borussia Dortmund, tipping them to prevail over Real Madrid in the upcoming Champions League final.
“To be honest, I really hope that the Borussia Dortmund win the UCL final. They deserve it more than Real Madrid.
Mikel Obi won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea in 2012.
