Ahead of the week 14 NPFL clash with Abia Warriors, Heartland FC has confirmed that Captain Ikechukwu Ezenwa has returned to training.
Ezenwa who is the first choice goalkeeper for the club has missed the last few games for the Naze Millionaires due to the injury.
In his absence, Emeka Nwabulu and veteran Chijioke Ejiogu have been in goal for the club, but Heartland confirmed that Ikechukwu Ezenwa could return to the starting 11.
“Heartland FC Captain and first Choice Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa has recovered from injury, should be in goal when the Naze Millionaires trade tackles with Abia Warriors in an Oriental Derby clash on Match Day 14,” the club said.
Before his injury, Ezenwa struggled for form as he conceded 11 goals in the 6 matches he kept for the team.
The match will be played at Okigwe stadium and Heartland will be aiming to avoid a back-to-back derby defeat following their 2-0 defeat to Rangers of Enugu on Monday.
