Scribe of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Haruna Maigidansanma has stated that the year 2020 was an eventful one for the HFN notwithstanding the global Covid-19 pandemic concerns that led to a lockdown with a number of moments to recall nationally and internationally.
Maigidansanma speaking in a chat with brila.net enumerated the teams outing at the nation’s cup, the national championship in Sokoto and the approval for the continuous hosting if the Championship in Sokoto for the next five years, the palliative from league sponsor during the lockdown as well as been the first Federation to organize a contact sports event with the league after the lifting of lockdown restrictions as achievement in the year despite the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In spite of all the challenges, the Handball Federation of Nigeria can proudly say we have achieved in the year 2020. To start with we were at the nation’s cup in January, and coming back we went for the national championship in Sokoto and got approval for the championship to be held in Sokoto for the next five years and we also got partnership during the lockdown to the tune of 7 million naira and organized the league after the Lockdown.”
