Hodgson happy with Dennis contributions to Watford’s relegation battle

Watford manager Roy Hodgson has singled out Emmanuel Dennis for praises, following their humiliating defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

Dennis who is Watford’s top scorer in the Premier League this assisted Watford’s only goal in the 5-1 defeat at Etihad— a result that moved the hornets closer to the Championship.

The Super Eagles striker also helped in defending during the game, but the result overshadowed his performance.

Despite the big defeat, Dennis’, efforts didn’t go unoticed as the coach singled him out for praises, along with Kamara.

“There were performances out of the 11 players that I’m not unhappy with and (Dennis and Kamara)are two of them who have done extremely well.”

“If you’re going to get something there, you need to get quite a few ticks by a lot of players who you can say did well today and they had a good game.”

“We’ve got to try and engender the hope we need to give ourselves a chance. I haven’t had the feeling we’ve lost games because of a lack of spirit or heart; we’re getting punished for most, if not all the mistakes we’re making.”He told the Club’s website.

A crucial clash against fellow strugglers Burnley lies in store next up for Watford at Vicarage Road (Saturday April 30) , and with a game against Everton also on the horizon, Hodgson is adamant that the team will leave everything out on the pitch.
