Ivory Coast and Chelsea Legend Didier Drogba has revealed that former teammate Mohamed Salah used to confide in him during his bad spells in front of goal.
Salah has been a huge hit at Liverpool since joining them in the summer and was recently voted the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2017.
The Egyptian played alongside Drogba at Chelsea but endured a difficult season until he was loaned to AS Roma and eventually sold to Liverpool.
Speaking about the player’s growth, Drogba told BBCSport, “He’s unpredictable he can dribble past you easily and he has got stronger and he can score goals.
“There was time when he was texting me: ‘I don’t score, I don’t know why.’ I said: ‘It is just a matter of time and confidence.’
“When you have the confidence, everything can happen and you can see now that he is scoring goals.
“I saw how he improved through the years. He had to go to Italy to perform and then come back to England show that he is the player we always believed he was,” Drogba said.
