Enyimba FC began their quest for the CAF Confederation title with a 1-0 first leg win against Diambars Football club of Senegal 1-0 on Saturday.
The Aba Elephants traveled to the the Stade Lat-Dior thies in Senegal and were able to secure a massive first leg advantage.
The eight time Nigerian Champions started the poorly as the home side dominated the first 45 minutes and Enyimba were lucky to go into half time break level.
However they managed to put the lethargic first half display behind and increased the tempo in the second half.
Their efforts was crowned the referee awarded a penalty against hosts for fouling Gabriel Orok inside the box.
Midfielder Cyril Olisema stepped up to send the goalkeeper the wrong way and it was enough to give them a good victory on the road.
The result put them on the driving seat ahead of the second leg coming up next weekend at the Elephant Park in Aba.
