French Superstar Paul Pogba will miss Manchester United’s Champions League Round of 16 second-leg clash away to Paris Saint-Germain next month after seeing a double yellow card on Tuesday night.
But the World Cup winner will be able to come back if United can overturn tonight’s 2-0 defeat at Old Trafford and reach the quarter-finals.
Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe secured a first-leg victory for the Ligue 1 champions.
Pogba was first booked for a clumsy challenge on Thiago Silva just a couple of minutes after conceding a foul for a poor tackle on Marquinhos.
The 25-year-old was then given his marching orders in the final minute after PSG had struck twice in quick succession.
As United’s frustration began to boil over, Pogba lunged in and his studs seemed to catch Alves high on the shin, earning the Frenchman a second yellow card.
Manchester United now have a mountain to climb in the return clash in Paris on March 6.
