How Osimhen led Napoli back to the top of Serie A with win over Bologna

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen helped Napoli return to winning ways with a 3-0 home win against Bologna on Thursday night.

 

Napoli dropped points for the first time this season after playing a goalless draw against AS Roma last Sunday, but they bounced back with emphatic against their neighbors.

 

Osimhen was involved in two of the three goals scored by Napoli as he won two penalties scored by Lorenzo Insigne.

 

Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz opened scoring for Napoli on 17 minutes with a fine curler from 20 yards.

 

Osimhen was involved in Napoli’s second goal as he won the penalty converted Captain Lorenzo Insigne.

 

Bologna defended Gary Medel was penalized for using his arm to intercept a cross from reaching Osimhen and the referee pointed to the spot.

 

Osimhen won his second penalty of the night on the 59th minute as he was brought down by Ibrahima Mbaye in the area.

 

Napoli skipper Lorenzo Insigne again stepped forward and dispatch it home for his second goal of the game.

 

The Super Eagles striker almost made it 4-0 a few minutes later, but his shot from outside flashed just wide.

 

The victory returned Napoli to the top of the summit with 28 points from 10 matches.
