How Peter Olayinka’s Europa league dreams ended in tears

Peter Olayinka’s Slavia Prague was bundled out of the UEFA Europa League after a 4-0 home defeat to Arsenal, in the quarter-finals second-leg on Thursday.

Olayinka and his Slavia Prague teammates went into the match after playing a 1-1 draw at the Emirates in the first-leg last Thursday.

The reigning Czech Republic champions failed to hit their stride and they were duly punished by the rampaging Gunners led by Alexander Lacazette.

The Gunners put the game beyond Olayinka and his peers in the first 30 minutes as Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette put them three goals up.

Peter Olayinka was yellow-carded in the 66th minute of the encounter, few minutes before Nicolas Pepe set up Lacazette for his second of the game.

Arsenal qualifies for the semi-final with a 4-1 aggregate score and they ended Slavia Prague’s 33-game unbeaten run at home.
