Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris was rushed to hospital after suffering a horrific elbow injury in the early stages of his side’s game at Brighton.

The French international’s handling had been found wanting on the goal line, allowing Neal Maupay to nod home after he had dropped his catch.

Lloris was caught out by a floated cross into the penalty area, and had been forced to back pedal into his own net to prevent the ball crossing the line.

His elbow could be seen visibly buckling as he landed and Tottenham later confirmed he had sustained a dislocation, adding they do not yet know how long he is out for.
