Gaziantep of Turkey forward Kayode Larry Olarenwaju said he deserves a place in the current Super Eagles squad, but he’s not giving up the hope of returning to the team.
Gernot Rohr handed Kayode Olarenwaju his senior debut in a friendly game against Senegal on 23 March 2017, but the Franco-German tactician has not looked towards the direction of the 27-year-old Gaziantep forward recently.
Olanrewaju who is enjoying good lease of life in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring nine goals and notching six assists for Gaziantep disclosed to www.brila.net that he’s still keen to add to his four international caps.
“For me, I’m just trying to keep myself fit and continue doing well for myself and for the team, I know when the time is right, they will call me, but I deserve to be there.” He told www.brila.net.
On his relationship with Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr, the former Austria Wien forward said he’s not in steady contact with the coach, but supports the team whenever they are playing.
“It’s been long I spoke to him, but I always wish him and the Super Eagles good luck whenever they are playing games.” He concluded.
