Nigeria sprinter, Divine Oduduru is through to the semi-finals of the 200 meters at the ongoing world athletics championship in Doha, Qatar.

Oduduru and teammate Blessing Okagbare were each disqualified for their failure to show up for the 100-meter races that they never intended to compete in.

After a long wait,  both Nigerian athletes were back in the competition following a successful appeal.

World number three Divine Oduduru advanced to the semis but only on time after placing fourth in heat one in 20.40.

Oduduru is the NCAA champion for Texas Tech at both 100 and 200 meters and won silver medal for Nigeria at just concluded all African games in Morocco.

”It’s tough, but for you to be a great athlete, you have to have a great attitude,”. He said after the race.

Meanwhile, Blessing Okagbare will be running in the women’s 200m event later today ( Monday).
