Idowu and Locomotive Moscow fails to shine at Wanda Metropolitano

Nigerian full back Bryan Idowu was in action for 90 minutes in Locomotiv Moscow’s 2-0 away defeat to Atletico Madrid in UEFA Champions league game at Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

Idowu started the game from his left back position and had a torrid time containing Athletico’s Joao Felix and Keiran Trippier who operated from the right.

It was Idowu’s fourth appearance in the competition for Locomotiv Moscow this season, and it was a game to forget for the entire team as they struggled to trouble Jan O’blak in goal for the home side.

Alvaro Morata and Kieran Trippier both missed penalty on the night, but Joao Felix and Fillipe scored the needed goals for Athletico as they qualified for the round of 16 by finishing top of the group.

Locomotive Moscow finished at the bottom of the Group with just a win from six matches.
