Igbinoba believes his team can qualifier for the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup after Rivers United snatch 2-1 win against 10-man KCCA FC.
Igbinoba is optimistic that the target of progressing from the group is still on track after his team claimed maximum three points to go second in group A of CAF Confederation Cup.
Since the turn of the season, Rivers United have gradually been coming out of the slide that threatens to spoil their season after the heroics that saw them finishing second in the Nigerian league.
Things were so tough for the ‘Pride of Rivers’ that at a point the management of the club decided to suspend their long serving coach, Stanley Eguma.
But the club had a change of heart as the players have gradually rediscovered their groove.
Speaking with Brila FM, Igbinoba stated that the positive from the game remains the 3 points attained, adding that in the next game at home where they would be taking on Club African, it would be all about getting the goals to boost their (-1) goal difference advantage.
Igbinoba said: “We are in the perfect frame of mind after yesterdays victory. We still have a game at home against club African and it isn’t going to be easy.
“I am confident we’re going to win and qualify but that game will be about getting the goals to boost our goal difference advantage.”
Rivers United next game has been scheduled for Sunday 2 July, 2017.
