Nigeria striker Odion hoping he’s second time lucky as he has been nominated for Manchester United’s goal of the month award for June.
Ighalo’s fifth goal of the season against Norwich City has been considered by the club as one of the best goals scored in the month of June.
Ighalo flicked the ball into the net with the other side of his boot ahead on Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul to give the club lead at the Carrow road in last Saturday’s FA Cup win.
It would be recalled that the Ighalo’s goal against LASK in the Europa League back in February was also nominated, but it was Bruno Fernandes who won the accolade.
For the June award, Ighalo will compete against Anthony Martial whose all three goals against Sheffield United were considered, captain Harry Maguire’s winning strike against Norwich City, Mason Greenwood’s opener versus Brighton & Hove Albion.
The last nomination goes to Bruno Fernandes’ second against Brighton who has also flourished since joining the club.
Ighalo has scored five goals in four starts for Manchester United this season, but he’s yet to get off the mark for the club in the premier league.
