Ighalo nets as Al Hilal saw off stubborn Al Batin in league contest

Odion Ighalo was on target for Al Hilal in their Saudi Arabian Professional Football League clash against Al Batin on Saturday.

The former Manchester United striker got the second goal of the game as Al Hilal recorded a 3-1 win over their visitors.

With the game tied 1-1 at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium, the Super Eagles striker put his side ahead in 69th minute.

The 33-year-old latched on to a pass from Andrea Carillo for his fifth goal of the season after nine matches.

Carillo then killed off hope of comeback with 90th minute penalty kick.

The victory means Al Hilal remain third on the league standing, two points adrift joint leaders Al Nasr and Al Shabab.

Next for Al Hilal is an away match against Al Ittihad.
