Leicester City was without Wilfred Ndidi, who went under the knife on an injury, but Kelechi Iheanacho came off the bench for the Foxes against Southampton in their PL clash on Saturday.
The hosts had pummeled Southampton 9-0 in the reverse fixture in October, but with 81 minutes on the clock the visitors had turned a 14th minute deficit around to see out a 2-1 victory.
Iheanacho was introduced in the 58th minute, but couldn’t whip up his magical touch nor add to his three goals in the league.
It was the same story for Samuel Kalu in France as Bordeaux threw away a first-half lead against Lyon, the Nigeria came off the bench in the second-half.
Kalu was thrown into the fray in the 54th minute with the hosts trailing 2-1 after Maxwell Cornet (50′) and Moussa Dembele (53′) turned it around for Rudi Garcia’s men.
Josh Maja was an unused substitute in the game, the Forward was made to wait for his 17 appearance and a chance to increase his goal tally from five.
On the continent, Junior Ajayi got all 90 minutes as Al Ahly labored to a 1-1 result in Bulawayo by FC Platinum in the CAF Champions League.
The 8-time Champions snatched a point through Marwen Mohsen’s 52nd minutes leveler and help them maintain top spot in Group B – until the Al-Hilal vs Etoile du Sahel.
Al Ahly Manager Rene Weiler was not entirely “satisfied” with his team performance and reckons they didn’t deserve more than a point.
“Not satisfied with our performance at all and i don’t think we deserved to win,” Weiler said after the game.
“We’ll keep working hard for the coming games, we don’t have time to rest.
“We got to focus on winning our next home game against ESS Tunis in order to qualify.”

Ajayi made a return to the competition; he picked up an injury in the first-leg in Cairo.
