Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho was sensational again for Leicester City as the Foxes came from behind twice to defeat Aston Villa 4-2 away from home.
After that strong display against Walsall that saw the striker come off the bench to net the winner in the FA cup there were calls from different quarters to start the Nigerian against Aston Villa since Patson Daka and Jamie Vardy were largely underperforming.
On his return to the starting line up since the FA cup win against Gillingham, Iheanacho dropped a vintage performance with a goal and two assist, to remind everyone of his quality.
Aston villa had been in good momentum and didn’t take time to record a goal as Ollie Watkins opened the scoring after just 9 minutes into the game.
However Kelechi Iheanacho had something to say about it, as he laid down an assist for James Madison who levelled for the visitors.
Harry Souttar unfortunately turned the ball into his own goal to give Aston Villa the advantage, but Iheanacho responded with a goal of his own as his perfect run was meet with Harvey Barnes’ perfect cross and the Nigerian headed home to Leicester city back into contention.
Iheanacho will then pick up his second assist of the day and Tete was the recipient.
The Brazilian made no mistake to put Leicester City in the lead just before half time.
The second half was straightforward as Aston Villa pushed for an equaliser, but conceded instead as the defence which had been suspect all through the game gifted Dennis Praet an opportunity, and he took it to ultimately kill off the game for Leicester.
