Iheanacho Set For FA Cup Heroics Again

Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has been tipped for another round of heroics in the English FA Cup, as he gets set to line out against lower division side, Peterborough United in Saturday’s early kick-off.

English soccer pundits are of a view that Iheanacho’s double-goal scoring feat in the previous round against Fleetwood Town makes him a sure bet for a starter’s shirt with The Foxes, and give the lad strong potentials of making another mark for himself and the club.

The manager, Claude Puel is set to stick with Iheanacho, while Robert Huth and Danny Simpson could both be back in the Leicester squad.

Huth has yet to play this season having undergone ankle surgery in the summer while full-back Simpson has recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him on the sidelines recently. Captain Wes Morgan (hamstring) remains out, though.

Puel made eight changes in the previous round against Fleetwood and he is expected to rotate his squad once again.

Heading into the game, Iheanacho said he is looking to emulate his illustrious compatriots Austin Jay Jay Okocha and Nwankwo Kanu.

Iheanacho scored twice, including the first goal to be validated by the Video Assistant Referee in English football history, as Leicester defeated Fleetwood Town in a third round replay.

The former Manchester City striker has scored seven FA Cup goals in his professional career at both Manchester City and Leicester City.

“I think it’s a great competition and it’s a great thing to be scoring in the FA Cup. I’m happy to be scoring in the FA Cup and I’m working hard every day, so it’s a great cup to be playing in,£ Iheanacho stated.
