Kelechi Iheanacho is back among the goals as he netted in Leicester City conference league win over Rennes on Thursday.
Iheanacho proved once again how vital he is to the Brendan Rodger’s men when he came on from to sealed a comfortable 2-0 first leg win over the French side at King Power stadium.
First choice striker, Jamie Vardy wasn’t available for selection, due to injury and Rodgers opted for Patson Daka ahead of Ihenacho .
Daka, however, didn’t influence the game enough, but The Foxes managed to go in the break with a lead, thanks to Harvey Barnes’ spectacular strike from outside the area.
With the visitors comfortable defending, Rodgers then decided to throw Ihenacho into the thick of the action in the final 20 minutes and the Nigerian did the damage.
Iheanacho curled home a second to put daylight between them and their opponents.
It was his first European goal of the season and it took his goal involvement to 15 this season.
Meanwhile, Wilfred Ndidi was in the starting line-up for Leicester for the 29th time this season and Ademola Lookman also started from the bench.
The second leg of their Europa League last-16 against Rennes is next Thursday, March 17 at Roazhon Park.
