Super Eagles legend Victor Ikpeba is unhappy with how he was disrespected by Victor Osimhen and has advised the striker to grow up.
Following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2022 Fifa World Cup, former Super Eagles forward Victor Ikpeba during his punditry duty had criticized Osimhen’s decision making in the crucial second leg match against Ghana.
However, the young forward responded with a series of social posts and comments apparently taking a jibe at Ikpeba.
Speaking in recent interview on Channels TV, Ikpeba couldn’t hide his disappointment, but advised the 23-year-old to focus on improving his game.
“I have seen the timeline of what happened, I can be the father to the young Victor. I have seen Victor before, very modest good young lad,” Ikpeba said.
“A lot of things came to play, sometimes players can take decisions because of emotions and respond, so I’ve really moved on.
“Victor is one of those players that have a lot of character. He still needs to grow up, he’s not yet the finished article, he’s going to be one of our top players in the future, but he needs to humble himself and try to learn.”
