Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu says he is pleased with Plateau United’s progress but insists they aren’t a defensive team as opined by different football analysts.
Plateau United stretched their unbeaten run to ten games with a well-deserved draw against eight-time Champions Enyimba of Aba on Sunday.
This puts them in a good position on the league table as the first stanza is coming to an end.
Speaking on their incredible form, The former MFM and Heartland boss dismissed claims that his side is difficult to beat because they are defensive.
“Ten games unbeaten run in the Nigeria Professional Football League isn’t easy, because you can lose anywhere .”
“We are not a defensive team, but for us, we play with the same mentality, either home or away and it has been working for us. We don’t have a home or away, we just go in and do our business and if we lose, we’ll go home, correct our mistake and try to improve.”
Plateau United last won the title five years ago and has emerged as one of the front runners for this season’s title.
They are currently a point adrift leaders Rivers United.
“I can’t say we are going to win it, but we will try our best for the club and the fans,” Coach Fidelis told journalists.
