Ilechukwu warn his players ahead of Al-Akhdar clash

Fidelis Ilechukwu has sent a warning to his Players ahead of the sides CAF Confederation Cup second-leg playoff against Al-Akhdar SC on Wednesday.

Ilechukwu stated that the tie is very much open, despite his side taking a 4-1 lead in the first leg.

The Peace Boys are guests of the Libyan side for the second leg at the 10,000-capacity Omar Al-Mukhtar Stadium, Bayda-Benghazi.

Speaking ahead of the game, Ilechukwu said the boys mustn’t rest on their first leg result, stating that the Libyans are still very much in the game.

“We are fully prepared for this all-important match, knowing full well that coming out with a decent result will catapult the team to the group stage of the competition,” Ilechukwu stressed.

“Naturally a 4-1 victory is a good score line by any standard, but in a competition of this magnitude, where the away goal rule counts, we need maximum concentration to enable us to come out unscathed.”

The winner over two legs will advance to the group stage of the competition which kicks off early next year.
