MFM’s trip to the Okigwe Township Stadium ended fruitless as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Heartland on Sunday.
Haven lost the first meeting at home, the Olukoya Boys were eager to make a statement in Okigwe, but the Naze Millionaires proved to a better side.
Heartland FC got their nose in front inside the opening sixth minute when Chidera Ezeh scored from close range.
Chidera Ezeh’s strike seperated both side at the end first half 45 minutes.
The game took a dramatic turn in the second half as MFM FC player Adeniyi Bamidele was given his matching order in the 75th minute.
Heartland’s numerical advantage lasted for two minutes when goal scorer Chidera Ezeh was shown a straight red by the referee.
Kingsley Maduforo finally sealed the maximum points for the Fidelis Ilechukwu with winning strike in the 96th minute after good work by Akuneto.
The three however moved Heartland FC to 10th position with 41points, while MFM FC stuck at 12th with 39 points.
The Olukoya Boys will be looking to bounce back to winning wayswhen they host Kano Pillars at the Agege Stadium on Wednesday.
