Super Eagles assistant coach Imama Amapakabo for the umpteenth time says he is happy with his role in the Super Eagles.
The Super Eagles will lock horns against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on the 10th of June and according to Amapakabo , everything is on deck to ensure the team gets maximum three points in the encounter.
News have it in the media that the former Rangers International coach is unhappy following his omission from the list of back room staff that will travel to France for the two friendly games the Super Eagles will play against Corsica and Togo but Amapakabo has dismissed such misconceptions insisting he is focused on the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in Uyo.
” I’m shocked at the news flying around that I am upset about my omission from the list of back-room staff to France. I have to say here that I’m very focused on the success of the team and already I have been given assignments here in Nigeria ahead of the clash in Uyo,” Imama told only AOIFootball.com.
He said the concern of all Nigerians at this point is how best to collectively see the Eagles soar to Russia 2018 and Cameroon 2019, FIFA World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations respectively, than creating unnecessary situations that are not healthy.
” For me, I have been in the system for some time to know when to react to issues, so the trip to France is the least of my worries because my concentration is going to AFCON 2019 and to secure our place in Russia 2018 World Cup, ” Imama said.
The Eagles will depart France for Nigeria on the 2nd of June after the friendly games against Corsica and Togo
