I’m very happy with my current role – Says Eguavoen

Super Eagles interim coach, Augustine Eguavoen, said he’s happy with his role with the Nigeria Football Federation, but won’t say NO to the opportunity of managing the Super Eagles on permanent basis.

Eguaveon is the technical director of the Nigeria Football Federation, but he’s currently acting as the interim manager of the Super Eagles.

Eguaveon was drafted to manager the team, after the sack of Gernot Rohr and he has hit the ground running — leading the Super Eagles to back to back win over Egypt and Sudan in the Africa Cup of Nations.

When asked, if he’s interested in working in full capacity with the team, after the tournament Eguavoen said:

“The truth is nobody is the best in the world, If they give me the job why not.

“This questions have come many time but I’m very happy with the position I occupy with the Nigeria Football Federation and yes.

“If they asked me for it, yes maybe, just maybe and when we get to that river we will cross,” he stated.

Eguaveon will lead the Super Eagles out for the third time this evening, when they face Guinea-Bissau in their last Group D game.
