Imama Amakapabo Reveals Reason For Dream Team VII Struggle In Away Matches

Head Coach of Nigeria U-23 national team Imama Amakapabo has praised his players for their performance against Sudan on Tuesday.

The Dream Team VII bounced back from 1-0 from leg defeat to the Sudanese in Omdurman last Thursday, to record a 5-0 comprehensive win in the second leg played at the Stephen Keshi’s Stadium in Asaba.

One of the reasons the team was superb against the Sudanese was the inclusion of the midfielder Kelechi Nwakali and Sunday Faleye who missed the first leg of the encounter due to paper works.

While Nwakali was pulling the strings from the middle of the field, Sunday Faleye came on from the bench to score and also assisted a goal.

However, an elated Imama Amakapabo told his team usual struggle in away matches, can be traced to the absence of the established stars.

“I have the opportunity to work with a bunch of players that I want.”

“Going away must time, you will find out that I don’t have the full complement of my team to work with and I get to meet players a day before the game and we just have to play.”

“But it’s a different ball game when we are playing at home, we had a good training session and we worked on a lot of aspect of the game, that’s a plus for us ”

“There is a big qualification in front of us, let’s get to Egypt and see, but we have to qualify for the Olympics.” He concluded.
