Injury forces off Troost-Ekong from Watford’s win over Reading

William Troost-Ekong was forced off in Watford’s Skybet championship match with Reading on Friday night.

Ekong who started the match was below his standard as he struggled all night misplacing most of his passes.

The 27-year-old almost cost Watford a goal on the stroke of half-time when Meite capitalized on his loose ball but can only find the side-netting.

The Super Eagles Vice captain was later replaced by Northern Irish defender Craig Cathcart with 20 minutes left to play after picking up an injury.

His compatriot, Isaac Success was introduced into the match in the second half for Swedish striker Ken Sema.

Meanwhile, two goals from two minutes from Senegalese forward Ismaila Sarr secured the maximum points for the Hornets at Vicarage Road.

Watford are second on the table with 82 points from 41 matches played.
