FC Lorient midfielder Innocent Bonke has been handed a call up to the Super Eagles squad for the World Cup qualification clash with Ghana.
The 26-year-old was drafted to the squad as a replacement for Wilfred Ndidi who suffered knee ligament injury while in action for Leicester City on Thursday.
Ndidi who has been ruled of the game billed for Kumasi and Abuja is expected to be sidelined for at least three weeks.
In a bid to cover up for the vacuum created by Ndidi, Austin Eguavoen decided to call Bonke who was not among the 30-man provisionalist released fee weeks ago.
Bonke’s invitation means Ogenyi Onazi could now miss out of the final 25 player for the ties.
The former Malmo FF midfielder made his Super Eagles debut against Cape Verde in Mindelo last year .
He also featured in the reversed fixture played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
The Super Eagles will face the Black Stars for the first leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, while the second leg is scheduled for Abuja four days later.
The Super Eagles are the favorite to pick the ticket.
