Super Eagles winger Ishaq Rafiu scored his maiden goal for NK Maribor in their 9-0 win over Limbus Preke in the Slovenian Cup on Tuesday.
Ishaq, who recently signed for the team from Nigerian Champions Rivers United, was handed his first official start for the team.
It was a good outing for the player as he announced himself to the fans with an excellent second half goal at the Ljudski vrt Stadium.
The left-footed forward connected with a low cross from the left and back heeled it past the goalkeeper for Maribor’s fourth goal of the game.
The 9-0 victory equals Maribor’s highest official victory so far, since the 2001 defeat of Brdo.
Ishaq scored fourteen goals in the NPFL last season, and will be aiming for more minutes when Maribor return to action on Saturday.
