“It’s a breath of fresh air for me”, Amusan reflects on a successful season

World Record Holder, Tobi Amusan has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for supporting her dream.

 

Amusan, spoke with the media at the homecoming dinner in Lagos on Wednesday, following a fantastic season that saw her become World Women’s 100m hurdle Champion, Diamond League winner, and Commonwealth Champion.

 

The 25-year-old also broke the world record twice in Oregon, racing 12.12s in the semi-final, and  12.06 (2.5m/s) in the final at the World Championships.

 

“It’s a breath of fresh air for me and I’m getting a hang of everything happening to me right now. My 200 million soldiers supported me through the World Championships, Commonwealth Games, and Diamond League, I trust them.

 

“As an athlete, I eat everything that I can, especially things that can give me energy”. Amusan said.

 

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari recently handed the Order of Niger (OON) honour to Amusan following her exploits in the past three months.
