Coach Bala Nikyu of Nasarawa United said the defeat to Plateau United is not blow to his side’s target this season.
Nasarawa United lost 3-2 to their neighbors in one of the week seven of the 2021-2022 NPFL matches on Wednesday.
The defeat condemned the Solid Miners to 9th position on the league — three points behind their North Central rivals who now occupies third position.
“Today’s result will not have any impact on our ambition this season because the league is still very young.” Nikyu told the press after the game.
On the quality of play, the former National team handled, was critical of his opponents brand of football.
“I thought we have gone past the era of must-win-at-home syndrome because if you watched the game, it wasn’t what a lot of people had expected – the attitude wasn’t what the game should depict, it’s more like a physical fight.” he said.
