Iwobi heroic helps Everton maintain perfect start in Premier league

Super Eagles attacker, Alex Iwobi is gradually winning over his critics as he put in a fantastic display for Everton in their premier win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

 

Iwobi who endured a slow start to the new season due to injury and the arrival of some players has been criticized by some fans for failing to perform consistently.

 

The Nigerian was named among the substitutes for the game against Brighton, but he made a huge contribution after he was introduced halfway into the first half of the match for injured Richalison.

 

The 24-year-old however justified his introduction as he played a delightful cross into the path of James Rodriguez who then finished emphatically from the near post to make it 3 – 1 for Everton.

 

He was then involved again in Everton’s fourth goal of the game, when he played s perfect through ball for Abdoulaye Doucoure who played it to Rodriquez to tap home for his second of the game.

 

Although the former Arsenal forward was unable to join Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Yerry Mina snd Rodriguez on the score sheet for the Toffees who maintained a 100 % record into the season, his performance proved he’d already won over his critics.
