Iwobi moves Everton closer to Premier League safety

Alex Iwobi was phenomenal again for Everton in their 0-0 draw with Watford at the Vicarage Road on Wednesday.

The Nigerian international who is now one of Everton’s most reliable players produced another fantastic performance to stir the club further to safety.

Iwobi kept his place in the Everton’s five-man defense. From his wingback role, the 26-year-old Nigerian made five key passes from an unorthodox wing-back role and five crosses.

He also helped the Toffees keep a clean sheet and they earn a valuable point back home.

At the end of the game, Iwobi’s performance was rated 7/10.

The former Everton man has now featured in 25 Premier League games for Everton this season. He scored two goals and two assists.

Meanwhile, the result means Everton moves on to 36 points in 16th place, thanks to Leeds’ 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea.

Everton is further away from the danger zone and a positive result against Brentford on Saturday is all they needed to move closer to safety.
