Alex Iwobi is delighted with his contributions to Everton’s biggest win of the season after a frustrating weeks.
Everton are out of premier league bottom three, following stunning 5-1 victory over Brighton and Holve Albion on Monday.
Nigeria’s star Alex Iwobi contributed immersely to the result as he assisted one of the goals, his seventh of the season for the Toffees.
“What’s Bigger, The W Today Or My Guy Tarky’s Head,
“The Job Continues”, Iwobi wrote on Twitter after the game.
It was a performance that banished the agony of series of poor and inconsistent performances, from Iwobi who was strongly criticised after the draw at Leicester City.
Iwobi commited an error leading to a goal at Leicester City, but he showed resilience and strong mentality by getting the equalizer.
Prior to the trip to Brighton and Hove Albion today , Dyche states that there is need for the players, including Iwobi to show strong mentality as they go into the final lap of the season.
He later praise the work ethics of the former Arsenal star.
“His [Iwobi’s] work ethic is terrific, his show of ability at times is terrific, and to react to a mistake like he did and to go and score a goal shows his mentality.
“He is a very good player. It was similar to Dom, Dom missed a chance and he set up Alex. That is the mentality you want, you can’t do anything once it has gone, once it’s gone it’s gone.
“You can reflect on it afterwards but not during the game. I think that is a strong sign of people’s mentality – if they do make a mistake, how quickly they recover. Both of those players recovered very, very quickly.”
With the game against Brighton out of the way, all eyes will be Iwobi and his Everton teammates for the final three games.
